Buss Offshore Solutions participates in WINDEA Offshore

As of 1 January 2018, the offshore wind service company WINDEA Offshore acquires with Buss Offshore Solutions GmbH & Co. KG another shareholder. In the future, the already very extensive service portfolio for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms of the WINDEA Group will be supplemented by the terminals and logistics services of the Buss Group.    

The WINDEA shareholders Bernhard Schulte Offshore, EMS Maritime Offshore and SSC Wind EMEA, who founded WINDEA in May 2011 as a joint service platform for their offshore wind activities, recently reached an agreement with Buss Offshore Solutions on the details of the transaction and signed the relevant agreements.

"We are pleased about Buss Offshore Solutions as a further shareholder," says WINDEA CEO Caspar Spreter von Kreudenstein and adds: "Buss does not only operate the important offshore terminals in Eemshaven and Sassnitz, but furthermore brings an extensive knowledge, relevant experience and an excellent reputation in project management, terminal logistics and component consolidation.  Such is an ideal complement to our existing service portfolio. In future, we will be able to offer our customers comprehensive solutions for the construction and maintenance of their projects, including the space required and the expertise for large component logistics and warehousing. "

Throughout the past six years, WINDEA Offshore developed into an established brand within the offshore wind industry and elaborated in close cooperation with the shareholders a comprehensive reference list. As a core business, WINDEA offers marine services with its own vessel fleet, other maritime and nautical services, wind technology, port and logistics services, and integrated medical care in offshore wind farms.

Buss Offshore Solutions already managed several major projects in offshore wind logistics and has proven to be a reliable service provider in the field of port project logistics with a focus on heavy, demanding cargo. Buss Offshore Solutions offers tailor-made logistics solutions both on its own terminals as well as on terminals of third-party companies, if required.

In view of the newly acquired partner, WINDEA will concentrate even more on the targeted development and implementation of holistic installation and maintenance concepts for German and international offshore wind projects.

Already today there are points of contact in Eemshaven between the future WINDEA partners. SSC Wind collaborated closely with Buss Offshore Solutions on the Orange Blue Terminal (OBT) in Eemshaven during the construction of the offshore wind project “Nordsee One”. EMS Maritime Offshore operates its own offshore wind service base in the immediate vicinity of the OBT. In addition to the warehouse and office complex built for Siemens in 2016, a comparable building is currently being built for the offshore wind farm “Merkur Offshore”, where Buss Offshore Solutions will again be responsible for the base port logistics during the installation phase. Bernhard Schulte Offshore operates the Service Operation Vessel WINDEA La Cour, which is used as a walk-to-work vessel in the "Gemini" offshore wind farm and is supplied by EMS Maritime Offshore as a port logistics service provider in the base port of Eemshaven.
