Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH or simply: EMO
Founded in 2010 by AG "EMS", EMO offers comprehensive maritime services for offshore wind farms in the North and Baltic Seas. In addition to the activities of a certified shipping company focusing on in the special requirements of offshore wind farms, EMO also provides the necessary port services in various service ports located close to the wind farm clusters. This includes provision of office, warehouse and outdoor storage capacity as well as parking space and berths for service vessels. The extensive service package is rounded off by the Marine Coordination section which supervises control of all logistics processes and maritime site observation by the in-house coordination centre VENTUSmarine. With its experience, EMO stands for service, quality, commitment and flexibility. As a wholly owned subsidiary of AG “EMS”, Emden, EMO is an important member of an association of different transport and service companies.
History and Milestones
The ten-year company history of the Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH is inseparable from the history of development
of offshore wind energy in Germany.

A Strong Network - Our Partners:
For over 125 years EMO’s parent company, a shipping company, has been operating the shipping lines from Emden and later also from Eemshaven (the Borkum line) to the North Sea island of Borkum.
The AG “EMS” corporation also includes Borkumer Kleinbahn und Dampfschifffahrt GmbH which operates Germany’s oldest island train, Ostfriesische-Flug-Dienst GmbH which provides air service to seaside resorts, Northern Helicopter GmbH, AG Ems Nederland B.V. as a Dutch subsidiary, Inselhotel VierJahresZeiten GmbH, which operates two four-star hotels on Borkum, and the shipping company Cassen Eils, which sails from Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Büsum, and Hooksiel to Heligoland as well as from Cuxhaven to Neuwerk.
WINDEA Offshore GmbH & Co. KG concentrates the services of its participating companies Bernhard Schulte Offshore, BUSS Offshore Solutions and Ems Maritime Offshore and, as the first contact point, minimizes the risk for them as client. The comprehensive services offered by WINDEA include, among other things, combined maritime technical services, medical emergency service, coordination services and advice, under the motto: multiple solutions - one source!
This company in the AG “EMS” Group with its headquarters at Emden Airport is one of the oldest airlines in Germany. It offers flights to the largest East Frisian island of Borkum and to the island of Heligoland. Charter and cargo flights are also included in its services.
